Function and Type of Pipe Elbow Many people refer to Elbow as "ells", the function of elbows or ells is to change the direction of the pipe. In the practice of piping it is often found that changes in pipe direction are common in an installation, generally elbows are available with angles of 45 and 90 degrees, although other sizes can be obtained.
For elbow type PVC connections using glue and not infrequently we also encounter a screw or threaded system. While for elbow types of iron and galvanized connections generally use a screw or threaded and weld system.
